After 40 years of analysis the National Audubon Society has identified 20 common bird species in decline. By illustrating these species the members of Guild of Natural Science Illustrators of the Finger Lakes hope to bring awareness of the perils these birds face and the difference that citizen action can make. Each painting represents a bird in its natural habitat and is accompanied by a sketch illustrating one or more reasons for the decline. The members of the local chapter of the Guild of Natural science Illustrators have been meeting and painting together since January 2005.
